Overview

A dermocosmetic icon meets India's creator economy

About the brand and the brief

The Brand

Bioderma is the French dermocosmetic brand behind Sensibio H2O, the world's #1 micellar water. Its range is built around specific skin types, from sensitive and dry to oily and dehydrated skin.

The Brief

Bioderma wanted to grow its presence with Indian skincare audiences on Instagram. The goal was national reach and repeat visibility without the cost of a fee-based creator campaign.

The Challenge

Dermocosmetic brands rely on trust. Indian shoppers want to see a product work on skin like theirs before they buy it, and a handful of big creators rarely delivers that proof. Bioderma's range also covers very different skin concerns, so a single hero message or creator type would not fit every product.

Objective

What the campaign set out to achieve

Four goals guided every creator brief

  • Large-Scale Awareness - Drive large-scale brand awareness for Bioderma across India through high-volume, creator-led content on Instagram.
  • High-Frequency Visibility - Use Reels for discovery and Stories for repeat exposure, so the same audience saw Bioderma more than once.
  • Engagement Signals - Generate likes, comments, saves and shares that boost organic reach on the platform.
  • Learn for Future Rounds - Find the best-performing creators, formats and product-audience pairings to scale in later campaigns.

Strategy

How we brought it to life

Scale-First Barter Model

We onboarded 200 creators on a product-only (barter) basis. Instead of spending on a few paid creators, the budget went into product seeding, which reached many more audiences across India.

Product-to-Skin Matching

We paired each creator with the Bioderma range that fit their own skin type and audience. That made every review feel like a real need, not an ad, which is key for a dermocosmetic brand.

Reels + Stories Dual Format

Reels reached new audiences through the Explore and Reels feeds. Stories kept the brand in front of each creator's existing followers, so the same viewers saw it more than once.

Tight but Flexible Briefs

Every creator got the key product claims and usage steps, then told the story in their own voice: dermat-approved routines, daily hydration resets, shelf edits and 'staple decoded' explainers.

Built-in Test and Learn

Running at this scale meant every creator, format and product effectively became a test. That produced a ranked list of top performers for Bioderma's next round.

Key Insights

What the numbers tell us

1M+ views at zero creator fees

620K Reel views and 440K+ Story views add up to more than 1 million views. Bioderma's only cost was product.

About 4.5% engagement rate

Around 28K engagements on 620K Reel views. That is strong for a barter campaign and shows people watched closely.

Comments show real interest

About 1 comment for every 9 likes suggests viewers were asking about skin types, usage and where to buy.

Saves beat shares

640+ saves against 520+ shares suggests viewers kept the routines to try later, a sign of purchase intent.

Stories gave steady repeat exposure

Each Story averaged about 1,800 views, regularly reminding followers who had already seen a Reel.

Wide reach from many smaller posts

Each video averaged about 3,100 views. Together, 200 creators built reach that no single creator could match.
